Chicago Restaurant Week

February 6, 2008 · 1 Comment

Chicago has a calendar full of fun and engaging events all year long that delight both residents and tourists alike. Between musical concerts, theatrical events, exhibits etc, Chicago is a city that definitely knows how to please the senses. It hasn’t forgotten to entertain the sense of taste either with its first annual Chicago restaurant week, this year.

The idea behind Chicago restaurant week is quite simple. It’s an event where you can enjoy an elegant 3-course meal at some of Chicago’s finest restaurants. If you’re thinking that you could never afford many of these restaurants, Chicago restaurant week has solved your problem by making this event “Prix-fixe”, or with a prefixed price for all these restaurants. You can get a hearty lunch for no more than $21.95 or an exquisite dinner for no more than $31.95 per person at some of the most high-end eateries in Chicago.

The event takes place for the first time this month starting February 22nd to the 29th, in a variety of Chicago restaurants, offering an array of delicious foods.

If you’re in the mood for some traditional French cuisine, you can visit the Bistro 110 on East Pearson Street during this event. There you’ll enjoy authentic French dishes and have the ability to pick and choose from the Bistro’s impeccable wine list. Not to mention, the atmosphere and service are as wonderful as the food there.

For fans of seafood, try something new at Roy’s restaurant where you can enjoy Hawaiian fusion cuisine at its best. Seafood with a twist that will have you dizzy with flavor is what you’ll find there.

For those who enjoy traditional American food or a good old steakhouse you can either drop by Naha restaurant or Smith & Wollensky. While both are usually pricy, you can enjoy their savory meals during this event to your heart’s content.

As for those who enjoy Asian food, they have the choice of visiting the China Grill for exotic Pan-Asian dishes in an elegant, magical atmosphere. They may also like some Japanese cuisine at SUSHISAMBA Rio, another somewhat pricy establishment they can enjoy during this event.

These aren’t the only restaurants involved in the event. There are many other well-known restaurants like Sullivan’s Steakhouse, The Drawing Room at Le Passage, Brazzaz and many more. If there’s a restaurant that you’ve been hoping to try but always thought that you couldn’t afford it, chances are it’s on the list of participants in this event. No sense to miss out on this opportunity to finally get the chance to try these various restaurants and get a mind blowing dining experience.
