Mitsubishi RaIf you’re one of many automobile aficionados around the world and you’re looking for a place to entertain your hobby, Chicago may be just the travel destination for you.

This is because the famous city of Chicago prides itself on being the home of possibly the biggest automobile show in the entirety of the North American continent. On an international basis, the Chicago auto show boasts being the third largest international automobile show. It is only exceeded in size by the Frankfurt show first and foremost, followed by the Paris show. To get an idea of the size of the event, it’s enough to know that the auto show is held on 1.3 million square feet of the McCormick Place Complex on Lake Shore Drive.

The Chicago auto show is not a new addition to the city’s tourist attractions. In fact, it is one of its oldest and most established. It was first held in March of 1901 and has been going strong since. It is actually one of the few automobile shows in North America to reach (and later on exceed) the highly significant 100-show mark.

The show is an incredible opportunity for automobile lovers to closely examine the newest models available when they are first unveiled to the public. There are a great variety of these new vehicles including everything from Hyundias to Hummers, all for your viewing pleasure. There is also the possibility of seeing many concept vehicles for those who would like to preview the newest creative trends in automobile design. There, visitors may even have the opportunity to experience these new vehicles by means of simulated conditions as well as indoor test tracks that are offered by the automobile companies on many occasions at the shows. If that doesn’t provide enough entertainment for you, there are also indoor concerts that are sometimes preformed as part of the event.

The Chicago auto show may also be a chance for you to enjoy yourself while helping the less fortunate. This is possible through the “First Look for Charity “event which has been taking place as part of the Chicago auto show for 17 years, now. This is an elegant black-tie event which not only raises millions of dollars to provide many local charitable causes with the help that they need, but also offers the opportunity of winning one of the latest and greatest vehicles available to not one, but three lucky benefactors. So if you’re looking for an elegant setting to view the newest in the world of automobiles with the chance of becoming a winner both morally and materialistically, the “First Look for Charity” event should be marked down on your calendar of events.
